Breath of Fire, also known as Breath of Fire: The Dragon Warrior in Japan is the initiative ingress in the Breath of Fire series of console role-playing games. Developed by Capcom in 1993 for the Super Famicom, it was licensed a year later by Squaresoft (today Square Enix) for release in North America. In 2001, Capcom independently re-released the plot for the Game Boy Advance worldwide. It is illustrious for being the initiative role-playing plot ever published by Capcom.

Breath of Fire takes localise in the years following a avid civil war between the Light and Dark Dragon clans. The Light Dragons are dwindling, reduced to hiding in microscopic villages. The protagonist is Ryu, a young Light Dragon who awakens one night to regain his abode set on terminate by Dark Dragons. After his sister is captured in the attack, Ryu sets away to rescue her. In the process, he joins a rush to uncover seven mystic keys, before the Dark Dragons potty use them to unlock a goddess of destruction.
